This month, we have a talk by Andrew Smith - Is Deno a step in the right direction for Node.js? Here's a quick preview of the talk:
Deno is a simple, modern and secure runtime for JavaScript, and although Deno is not a direct replacement for Node.js it can be seen as a new "way" to JavaScript. I'll look into some of the current problems with Node.js and the JavaScript ecosystem and whether through solving these problems Deno can be seen as a step in the right direction for Node.js. I'll be demoing some basic Deno scripts and open the discussion up for people to make up their own minds on whether Deno is a step in the right direction for Node.js
