*Quick note: The proposed walk is approximately a 7km, fairly flat in most parts with a couple of hills. It will take more than an hour. Feel free to leave whenever you need to. Please refer to location section for meeting and parking details.
Are you over 40 and looking to build midlife strength and fitness?
This event is for individuals looking to start a fitness journey to enhance strength and improve their overall health. It is also my own personal journey and I am looking to connect with like-minded people who want to do the same.
You maybe new to walking for fitness or looking to start a regular exercise routine. This event offers a supportive and encouraging environment to help.
Come and join me, no stress, just walk, talk and maybe a coffee afterwards.

What to expect?
This is not intended as an outdoor fitness session and you will not be drilled. It is very casual. We just walk, have a chat if you like and perhaps grab a coffee afterwards. Feel free to have a break at any time and if you've had enough, just drop out.
How many people might there be?
The maximum number of attendees for this event is 10 people.
What if it rains?
If it's forecast to rain heavily I will give you a heads-up and we may cancel or reschedule. Similarly, if its too hot we can make the same calls.
What to bring?
Water, coffee in a Keep Cup, comfortable shoes for walking in. At some locations the terrain can be uneven, gravelly and undulating.
Why did you start this event?
17 years ago I had just started a personal training business. I was reasonably fit and had a regular exercise routine. Age 30, I was told that I had cancer. Long story short, the cancer was successfully removed and I began my recovery process. During this time I lost my motivation for fitness, closed my business, took a desk job and my fitness went slowly into decline. Last year I was advised by my doctor that I had high cholesterol and they put me on the dreaded pills. At 46, something had to change. I realised the importance of developing strength and balance going into older age and the easiest way to start is to do what comes most naturally, walking.
