Debugging Drupal & Basic Module Development

Details
01/11/2011 Update:
I just wanted to inform those who are planning on coming tomorrow evening that Alex has offered to provide pizzas and pop to celebrate the new year and the release of Drupal 7. Thank you Alex! :)
Also, for those of you who do not have GPS, it may be a bit challenging to find my house at night. Even if you used Google or Yahoo maps, here are some directions once you are within 1 mile. I will assume that you made it to Crooked Lake road in Howell. Make sure you take the second entrance into the Northshore subdivision which will be on your left (Lakewood shores Dr.). Oak Bluff court is the 3rd street on the right. My house is the 4th house on the right.
There are plenty of electrical outlets in the great room but due to the high number of attendants, you might want to bring extension cords if you are planning on having your laptop with you.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Christian

Hope everyone is surviving the cold-- it should give you more time inside to use Drupal! :-)
This meetup will focus on the technical side of Drupal-- coding, debugging, and basic module development. Anyone that has downloaded or created their own themes, modules, or other code knows Drupal has a lot of PHP code behind it and sometimes it's mysterious what's going on inside all that code. We'll talk about how to get inside Drupal and see what it's actually doing and if there's time we'll dive into creating a basic module of your own.
Christian Masson, our group's new Assistance Organizer, will be hosting this meetup. Any of you that have been to a meetup and user group meeting have probably run into Christian at least once. He's been kind enough to volunteer use of his beautiful leather couches, projector and big screen TV for our Drupal discussions. Don't let the fact it's at a private residence scare you away-- the usual suspects you know and recognize will be there along with new members as well!
Also, since this meetup is in Howell there's a good chance we'll be able to bring together a larger part of the community with people from Lansing, Ann Arbor, and the rest of Metro Detroit.
