Animal Friends: Artists & the Animals they Loved at the Crocker Art Museum!
Details
Calling all animal lovers and art lovers!
Join Crocker Art Museum’s docent, Marla Todd for a fascinating and special tour for Midweek Mixes of the Museum’s animal related art collection!
Throughout history artists have been known to share deep, life-changing bonds with animals. These beloved animals often served as studio companions, muses, and artist models. In this tour we'll visit animal friends and their artists ranging from popular Victorian German genre paintings, to Contemporary California Funk, and all of the purrrfect works in between.
This tour highlights painters and sculptors who had a particular love and respect for animals, and explores the fascinating ways those bonds found their way into their art.
🐕 🐈 🦌 🐦 Expect a delightful afternoon of:
• Beautiful and unusual animal-themed artworks
