Details
This event is open to everyone. We had such a blast at a previous lazy river trip we are excited to do it again this summer!
Our lazy river tubing event will take place at Point Bluff Tubing Resort in the Wisconsin Dells and we’ll be floating on the Wisconsin River. We are going to be camping at Sherri’s in Wisconsin Dells on Friday and Saturday night. We’ll arrange carpools to Point Bluff Saturday morning - it’s about a 10 minute drive from there.
Point Bluff Camping Resort opened in 2015 & flourishes as a beacon of hospitality and relaxation. Concessions are available for you to purchase at your cost on site at The Point Bluff Bar. They feature pizzas, giant soft pretzels, alcoholic beverages and refreshing cold drinks.
The Plan
Friday July 25
-Arrive at Sherri’s home in Wisconsin Dells after 4 pm. Sherri’s address will be disclosed a week before the event. She has 2 very friendly dogs on the property so if you have any questions about staying on her property or about her dogs, let us know.
Bring your own tent, camping gear, camp chair, your food and beverages of choice (bring lots of water!) and pick a great spot on Sherri’s flat, grassy property for you to set up your campsite. Please remember that you’ll be sharing the site with other tents. Access to a bathroom with a flushable toilet will be available.
In the past, we have provided meat to grill and then dined together. For Friday night, we’ll provide grilled burgers & cheeseburgers on the Blackstone Griddle (so tasty), and provide buns and condiments for everyone to eat that night, so please bring a side to share. If you want to do your own thing that’s fine, you’ll just prepare the meal you brought for dinner and we’ll gather around the campfire that night.
Saturday July 26
Tubing Info
-Registration opens at 9 AM in the back of the Point Bluff Bar and they recommend arriving an hour early on the weekend to guarantee a spot on the river.
The last bus shuttle leaves at 3 PM.
-Tubing pricing is $20 per person and the cooler is available for $15 a tube. You will be paying for your tube yourself and your cooler tube if you want one or you can split the cost of a cooler tube and share that with others. We’ll bring rope to tether our tubes together to go down as a big group. Lifejackets are available for rent at your cost; we suggest you rent one. There is also a parking fee when you arrive at the campground per car, some people may want to carpool and split that cost.
-Waivers have to be filled out for the entire group which is located at the tubing desk located in the bar area.
Once the waiver and payment are received, you’ll get a bus pass. Our group will be called when it is our turn to load. The bus will hand the pass to the driver and board.
-The bus will take us a few miles down the road to the launch location. Typical lazy river trips run about two hours.
