Lapham Peak 8.3 Mile Hike
Details
Join us for an 8.3 mile hike at Lapham Peak
The Lapham Peak 8-mile loop is a moderately challenging 8.3-mile journey through the glaciated topography of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Characterized by rolling hills, wooded ridges, and glacial kettles, this route combines several smaller loops to offer a varied experience of dense woodlands and open, restored prairies.
- Trail Details: The hike takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours to complete and features an elevation gain of about 688 feet. You can expect a mix of wide, well-maintained gravel paths, boardwalks, and some sections of single-track trail.
- Meeting Logistics:
- Time: 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM tomorrow.
- Location: Evergreen Shelter Parking Lot, located near the park entrance.
- Parking: A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker is required to park within the unit.
- Identification: I'll be by my white Ford Explorer with the hatch open, wearing an orange shirt.
The park is open until 9:00 PM, and the Evergreen area features a heated lodge with restrooms and water refill stations if needed before or after our trek. We plan on making this a weekly Tuesday event through July, so keep an eye out for more hikes at this location.
