We are organising a 45km walking event for young professionals in their 20s and 30s, starting from Paddington Station, and finishing at Kingston Upon Thames. "Walk & talk" is the most natural way to socialise and make new friends! Whilst we aim to walk 45km in total, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO walk from the start to the end. You can drop in and drop off at any point you wish. If you want to join us only for a 5km walk instead, for example, that is absolutely fine!

★What to expect on Gump Walk

*We will walk 45 km in total at a slow pace. You can join the walk at any point you like. You can join for a short time, go home, take a nap, and rejoin in the evening, for example. It is totally up to you — no pressure!

  • A live location will be shared on the group chat throughout the day, so you will always know where to join us.
    *There will be many short 15-minute breaks every 2 hours, where we can have toilet and fuel breaks. Details will be shared on Meetup and the group chat (please make sure to join from the link shared above).
  • After the walk, we may go to a pub or get some drinks outside (picnic style) if we still have energy. As this will be a spontaneous decision, the location will not be decided or shared in advance.
  • We recommend bring light food and snack with you so you can fuel yourself whilst walking as well as during short breaks.

★Recommended items to bring

  • Sportswear
  • Electrolytes
  • Easy carbs/snacks (bananas, protein bars, sandwiches, gels, nuts, flapjacks, etc.)
    *Portable charger / power bank
  • Spare T-shirts (You don't want to be too stinky... oh, and it may rain...)
  • Blister plasters (These can be useful after walking beyond 30 km)
  • Sunscreen SPF 50+

★Recommended things to do

  • Sip water with electrolytes as frequently as possible during the walk
  • Stretch your calves briefly at every break point

  • Monitor hotspots on your feet early (fix friction immediately before it becomes a blister)
