Hike Waterton Canyon
Details
Let's walk/hike Waterton Canyon. This will be about 4 miles out and back up the canyon road and hopefully we'll spy some Big Horn Sheep on cliffs. This trail has a gradual climb, following the South Platte River (if you some other time go 6.2 miles up, there is a beautiful dam https://www.denverwater.org/recreation/waterton-canyon-strontia-springs-resevoir )
Waterton does not allow dogs or other pets so please leave them at home. :-(
Parking is ACROSS the street from the Trailhead so please pay attention when coming in. I'll meet you in the parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and we'll start walking promptly at 8:05 a.m.
Directions: Go South on Wadsworth Road. Left on Waterton Road (before the Lockheed Martin gate) and take the 2nd left into the parking lot. If you go around the curve and start seeing residences, you've gone too far.
What to wear: This time of year, it could be anything from 40s and sunny to rain or snow - we will have the event if it's barely snowing or expecting to snow - we will reschedule if it's worse than that. Dress in layers so that you can adjust your comfort level, wear good footgear please. Bring water or a camelback.
Please keep your RSVP up to date. I realize things happen but no one likes waiting around for someone who has no intentions of showing up.
