Book Description

This section focuses on the cultural war between the "Orthogonians" and the "Franklins." Perlstein illustrates how Nixon weaponized resentment against the 1960s counter-culture. We will dive into the 1968 conventions and street riots. This first half concludes with Nixon’s narrow victory and his return to power.
