New or revisiting digital interchangeable camera owners should find this 4-class series useful in learning camera settings and how to apply them in real world situations and to come away with more polished images. RSVP here for the 4 classes which will include a Q&A opportunity at the end. Wednesday, July 9 at 7:00 PM:
First things to practice. Review of basic compositional rules and considerations, exposure to shutter and aperture priority modes, and using exposure compensation.

Wednesday, July 16 at 7:00 PM:
Shutter settings. The how and why of setting your own shutter will be reviewed with examples of high, medium and slow speed creative controls you can get via shutter priority.

Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 PM:
Aperture settings. Why photographers use aperture priority to control depth of field for creative affect. What kinds of apertures are usually used for portraits, close ups or depth of field. Examples reviewed of aperture priority in action for this important creative control.

Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 PM:
Manual exposure. Knowing the how and why of manual should help you become a better photographer. We'll review the exposure relationship between shutter, aperture and ISO; consider the rules behind shooting in different light conditions and how using manual can help deliver consistent exposures.
