Fireworks & Milky-way: Night Photography Workshop

Special August 1st edition: Fireworks and Milky-way in one night.

This will most likely be a camping event, and I have a perfect spot for it, where we could see both fireworks and Milky-way, but depending on the weather, the spot might change, and we might also opt for sleeping at the hut instead.

The final location of the event will be decided two days before the event and will be shared only with event participants.

Hopefully the weather will be nice on August 1st night, but in case of rain, the back up date for this workshop will be August 6-7 (without fireworks though).

You should expect 3-4h of walking, 1000m up (with all the photo and camping gear).
All participants should be in good health and have proper equipment (proper multi-layer cloths, hiking shoes, camping equipment, etc). Camping equipment and food are not included in the workshop price. If you don't have camping equipment, but still want to participate, please, let me know, and we might find some solution.

I can teach you how to plan, shoot, and process night sky photos, be that a milky-way, moon-lit landscape or hours long exposure for star trails. Knowing the right setting for your camera is just a tiny part of night photography art. Planning and post-processing techniques is what makes up for outstanding night photos.

About me: My education is in physics/computation photography, thus I know technical part of photography very well, and I also hope to teach you some artistic parts of it. I have been living and hiking in Switzerland for over 13 years, and I know more or less every dark corner of it. LEARN (theoretical session, done online before the workshop date)

-How to plan Milky-way/starry-night shot
-How to photograph milky-way
-How to photograph star trails
-How to photograph moon
-How to photograph meteor showers
-How to incorporate people in starry-night landscapes
-Noise reduction for astro photos and other trips & tips
-Social behaviour and safety during night photoshoot

PRACTICE

We start taking photos 1 hour before sunset and continue until we no longer can take any photos (and if weather permits), with me checking the quality of your photos and giving suggestions to improvements.

REVIEW (done online or at my place in Zurich after the workshop date)

-Post-processing of milky-way/starry night photos in Lightroom

CANCELLATION

No prepayment is needed, and you can cancel free of charge (but please, don't cancel without valid reason)
The event might be cancelled by the organizer in case of bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

I am not a hiking guide, I can only provide photo instructions. I can give you tips for camping and hiking, and I will do my best to keep you happy and safe in the mountains, but you and only you are responsible for your safety. It is your own responsibility to prepare appropriately before the event: You need to assess the difficulty, risks and dangers and the expected weather conditions.
