Sunday's Illness

Sunday's Illness (Spanish: La enfermedad del domingo) is a 2018 Spanish drama film directed by Ramón Salazar which stars Bárbara Lennie and Susi Sánchez. A slow-burn, mysterious story of a mother and her estranged daughter Chiara, who invites her (now famous) mother Anabel to spend ten days with her as the price of Chiara staying quiet about her own existence, which Anabel has kept secret. This time together reveals them to each other and to us, and what they salvage is not what we might expect.
(NB. We don't watch it together. We watch it and then meet, in person, to discuss it. Like a Book Club, but with films!)
