Join us for a fantastic 4th of July Beach Day!

We’ll be setting up at Soda Lake in Bear Creek Lake Park (Lakewood, CO) for a fun, low-key day in the sun with other parents in the same season of life.

Expect a relaxed and festive atmosphere—the perfect excuse to get out of the house, let the kids burn off some energy, and actually get to connect with fellow adults.

We'll have a cozy, shaded tarp area set up right on the beach, where we’ll be grilling burgers and hot dogs for everyone. Bring your swimsuits, because we'll also have a few paddleboards available to try out!

We intentionally picked a spot near the beach’s wading area so the little ones can play safely in the shallow water and sand while we hang out.

If you want to stay for fireworks, we'll be watching some fireworks from a local hill after the event.

What to Expect:

  • A laid-back, zero-pressure holiday beach vibe.
  • Lunch from the grill! Feel free to bring a side or dessert to share if you'd like, but absolutely no pressure if you just want to bring yourselves.
  • Paddleboards to take out on the water.

The Details:

  • Where: Soda Lake at Bear Creek Lake Park, Lakewood, CO.
  • Location Note: Look for our shade tarp on the beach.
  • Who to Look For: Jaimie (wearing a blue cowboy hat), his wife Krista, and our 2.5-year-old daughter, Aria.
  • What to Bring: Whatever your family needs to be comfortable! Pack your own snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, beach towels, sand toys, and any beverages you'd like (just no glass on the beach, please).
  • We will be set up as early as 8:00 AM, so feel free to come early to beat the crowds! The park gets very busy on the holiday, so we highly recommend arriving early to snag a parking spot inside. If the line to enter the park is too long, you can park on the road outside the entrance and walk in (it’s about a 20-minute walk to the beach).
  • Evening Fireworks (Optional): The official beach day wraps up around 4:00 PM, but if your family is up for a late night, you are welcome to stick around! We have a campsite reserved in the park and will be heading up Mount Carbon (inside the park) later to catch several distant fireworks shows across the valley.

They say it takes a village to raise a family, but no one really tells you where to find it. Millennials with Kids is all about building that community right here in Denver—creating a welcoming space for young(ish) parents to share the load, find real support, and enjoy some great family adventures together.
