Name: Tour the Crowsnest Pass - Coleman to Lunbreck/Lunbreck Falls and back.

Join us for a cycling tour of the coal branch along the Crowsnest Pass. Tour here means, meandering, stopping for sites, refreshments, photos, and laughs. Our tour will take the group to a days ride totalling 64KM. It will include seeing Frank's Slide, a picnic at the Fireman's Park off the ghost town of Bellevue, a dip (bring trunks) in the basin of the Lundbreck Falls, and a 'National Lampoon's Vacation Grand Canyon' glance at the village of Lundbreck.

I have contacted the accommodations along the route and the only place that welcomes and can accommodate pulling bicycles inside is the Paddock Inn. (best Rates as well) There are a few campsites sites along the highway for those wanting to tent it.

Here is the route plan:
Start Coleman, (Paddock Inn) Saturday - 9AM.
Veer off and ride through Blairmore main drag. (some cool shops)
Ride through Frank Slide (not up to interpretative centre)
Stop for ice cream at the coolest shop in the ghost town of Bellevue.
Cut through the slide and up into Bellevue to Fireman's Park - 13 km.
Saddlebag Brunch
Stop at a trendy coffee shop in Bellevue. (also a cool place for souvenirs)
Ride to Lundbreck Falls - climb down into the Basin, for a swim. (more cool photos
Portage (carry bike) across the railway along the OLD unused Crowsnest Pass highway and ride to the village of Lundbreck.
Return ride.
Ride to Leitch Collieries Provincial Historic Site - Take in the exhibit (lots of cool photos here)
Ride through Bellevue and stop for ice cream.

(Note, the leg is mostly uphill, but for of a false flat.)
Sunday's Ride: Democratically discussed and planned consider a ride to touch the BC border and photo ops.

Best bicycle: Road bicycle or modern gravel bicycle with 700c rims, tires 20-40mm. Higher tire pressure for better rolling. Equipped with rear rack and bags.

Mandatory Gear: Reflective Vests, Helmets, and reflectors (Flashing lights even better). Patch Kits, spare tube, tools to remove wheel, and levers for remove tire. (NO SAG OFFERED ON THIS RIDE)

BOOK HOTELS EARLY! I have been told that the hotels fill up fast. So the earlier the better.
