FOR JANUARY AND FEBRUARY: we are doing HotSpell Sauna. You will need to make a reservation there each time. Cost is 37$/session. It gives us way more time to get acclimated and have multiple plunges, plus socialize a bit. Two towels and either water socks or slip on shoes to get to and from water and a water bottle are great to bring with.

Rest of year: Meet on the north portion of the beach just past the flagpole. Look for the little brown building. (Free parking on Lincoln Memorial and in Mckinley lot.) Find Dana or Kim - usually the only people there. As it gets colder, you might want neoprene socks and gloves and to wear a hat. Extra towels or blanket to wrap up in for discreet dressing afterwards help too. We are usually only in the water for a few minutes when it’s chilly out. Run in and out, sit still, swim around - totally up to you.
Weather: we generally err on the cautious side and try to watch here https://www.weather.gov/ for wave/current advisories and local forecasts.
