Details

Fourth of July Parade in Whitefish Bay! We will meet in the Panera Bread Parking Lot (Port Washington and Silver Spring) at 10am. We should have time for coffee or a beverage, then off to the parade. We are registered as Milwaukee Scoot Jockeys. We are group #49, 2nd last in the parade.

Afterwards, lets ride down to the lakefront. Full parade instructions can be found here: 2023 Whitefish Bay Parade Instructions

Here are some of the parade instructions:
2023 Whitefish Bay Fourth of July Parade
Thank you for participating in the 2023 Whitefish Bay Fourth of July Parade. We are looking forward to another beautiful day celebrating our community and our country!

  • Check in: Check-in table will be on the corner of Silver Spring & Kent and begins at 10:30am. Please check in no later than 11:00am. Please don’t be late. We have a large population in the parade and need as much time to get everyone checked in and into their correct spot.
  • Silver Spring is blocked, so enter Kent from the south on Birch or Lexington. If you have a vehicle, be extremely careful in the staging area. More info below.
  • Some large parade entries will line up in the Dominican parking lot or on Silver Spring Drive west of the starting point.
  • Please be careful when finding your spot in the line-up. We have many young people participating in the parade.

The parade will begin promptly at 11:30am. The parade starts at the intersection of Kent Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, heads east to Lake Drive, and then north to Klode Park ending at E. Montclaire Avenue (see below). Please note that participants must march to Montclaire Avenue. (Do not stop at Klode Park.) This will keep the parade traffic moving instead of having a logjam at the end of the parade.

  • Parade route is one mile long and approximately 60 minutes.
  • The turn at Lake Drive is the midpoint of the parade. Save half your candy for the north leg. Make sure you have enough candy for the entire parade, please.

Attention to all Paraders with vehicles. When staging on Kent Ave. please enter Kent Ave from South of Silver Spring, via either Birch Ave (Numbers 2-29, except 5, 18) or Lexington Ave (Numbers 30-50) and head North (opposite the arrows above) to your parade position on the block.

Emphasis for 2023:
If you are a large group, play songs, or stop to demonstrate a skill (feel free to perform) but PLEASE REMEMBER to KEEP UP with the group ahead of you. We try to keep the parade moving and have a no gap policy. The multi-block gaps that have formed in the past create a poor parade experience.
Candy throwing is permitted. Please throw candy behind the parade watchers in the crowd in order to keep the kids out of the street. This will help move the children back to the curb and out of the street. We are always cautious of keeping everyone safe.
Groups are NOT ALLOWED to hand out flyers, coupons, or other promotional material as most of it ends up as litter.

Some final notes:

  • There are no public restrooms at the lineup on Kent
  • Refreshments are not provided so please consider bringing water
  • Line up south of your numbered cone
  • Respect the yards/property of the people on Kent Avenue
  • E-mail ([july4th@wfbcivicfoundation.org]()) with any questions, see mobile numbers above.

Thank you all for participating and celebrating Independence Day with our community.
Please be safe and aware of the other marchers.

Most importantly, have fun and celebrate the 4th of July.
Sincerely,
Cathy Panas, Jim Lowrey, Tom Gleason
