Mindfulness-Based Pain Reduction: A Mind-Body Approach to Living Well with Chronic Pain
Are you living with persistent pain that just won’t go away—despite every treatment, test, or therapy?

Join us for an evidence-informed, experiential course that blends the principles of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with emerging mind-body research on the connection between chronic pain,
unprocessed emotions, and ingrained thought patterns.

Drawing from the work of Dr. John Sarno and others in the field of psychophysiologic disorders, this course explores how awareness, compassion, and emotional regulation can create powerful shifts in your relationship with pain.

Over the course of 6 weeks, you’ll learn to:

  • Develop mindfulness skills to observe pain without resistance
  • Understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and physical symptoms
  • Identify inner narratives that may be contributing to tension and distress
  • Practice body-based and breath-based meditations to soothe the nervous system
  • Cultivate self-compassion as a tool for healing and resilience
  • Engage in gentle movement to reconnect with a sense of agency and ease

This program is not about denying the reality of pain—it’s about turning toward it with wise attention, uncovering what may be hidden beneath the surface, and discovering new pathways to relief, insight, and vitality.

Who this is for:
Anyone living with chronic physical pain—including tension headaches, fibromyalgia, back or neck pain, pelvic pain, autoimmune-related discomfort, or other forms of “medically unexplained” pain—especially those who sense there may be more to their pain than just a structural diagnosis.

Format:
6 weekly 2-hour sessions (live on Zoom), with guided practices, group discussion, and home practice support.

Monday evenings, 6pm August 11, 18, 25 and Sept 8, 15, 22 (no class Sept 1).

Led by:
