Hi there!
Join us for a gentle evening of self exploration and connection through mindful art, facilitated by a psychology graduate & passionate creative.
What is Mindful Art?
Mindful art is a way of combining art making with mindfulness practice. It isn’t about being a great artist, but using the creative process as a way to be present, reduce stress, and explore one’s emotions. Mindful art can be a powerful way to sharpen your focus, generate new thinking and have fun 🎨
What to expect
- A short, guided breathwork exercise to find your centre
- Mindful Art exercises based on a theme, to encourage spontaneity and enjoyment
- Questions to generate reflection and the opportunity to share (or not share) your insights with others
- A non-judgemental and supportive space to let the creative juices flow
The Vibe
- Cameras turned on at the beginning, but freedom to switch off during breathwork and art making (although Cameras on is preferred)
- The focus is on the process of creating art, not artistic skill. No art skills needed!
- Friendly, supportive and light hearted. Opportunity to connect with others in breakout rooms.
What to Bring
- Art materials of your choosing! It can be as simple as pencil and paper, but colours will be needed ( i.e. coloured pencils, watercolour paints etc). And, at least 3 sheets of paper
- A journal or paper to capture reflection and insight
Notes
- This is not a therapeutic group and does not substitute for professional mental health support.
- This is not a learn to draw/paint workshop
See you there!
Emily 😊
