šŸŒ³šŸ’§ As our relationship with nature deepens, a sense of grief can grow.

It's hard to engage with the outdoors without a growing awareness that pollution, climate change, deforestation, etc. are hurting it.

It's also hard to find spaces where the heaviness of what's happening to the world can be spoken aloud and held. Speaking of our grief or despair is often met with platitudes, minimization, or a quick change of topic.

ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ In this monthly virtual space, all your eco-emotions are welcome: grief, rage, despair, fear, guilt, numbness. Together we will share, listen without fixing, and connect to a sense that we are not alone.

āœ… Agenda:
1. Group Guidelines & Introductions (15 min)
2. Grounding Practice (10 min)
3. 2 rounds of sharing 40 min
4. Closing Shares & Poem Reading

šŸ”” Important Notes:

  • This is not a space for offering hope, suggesting solutions, urging people to action, or fixing emotions. As the facilitator I will also abide by these guidelines and will participate alongside attendees.
  • Emotions about social injustice, climate injustice, violence, etc. are welcome as well, as these issues are not separate from environmental harm.

Speaking truth in community is powerful. It is a form of activism. It makes our burdens feel lighter, reduces isolation, heals the nervous system, and helps us take action in a more sustainable way.

I look forward to holding truth together.
