Mindful Mental Health is a monthly support and discussion group that advocates mental health recovery through mindfulness principles. Mindfulness, as presented here, is defined as a toolkit of practices that help bring ones focus to the present moment. Examples of practices are meditation, breath awareness, and self-acceptance. Presented by Future Directions, a mental health drop-in center located in Lakewood, the group will help members learn new tools for managing symptoms, coping with stress, and living a more satisfying life. Each hour-long meetup will include a meditation, and group sharing on various topics of mindfulness and recovery.
