Mindful Movement Hiking Meetup – Connect with Nature, Yourself, and Others
Welcome to Mindful Movement Hiking Meetup — a space where hiking meets intention, presence, and community. Our group is for anyone who loves being outdoors, loves hiking, and wants to experience nature not just as scenery, but as a grounding, calming, and energizing part of life.
I started this group because I wanted to be able to hike in a group and still be able to take a moment to appreciate the scenery and be present to the environment we were hiking in. To listen to the chorus frogs, to try and find the Rose Breasted Grosbeak when we hear it sing, or just appreciate the view. I wanted hikes that were good for both the body and the spirit.
To that end, each of my hikes blends moderate movement with an invitation tune in and reconnect — with the trail, with your body, with your breath, and with your surroundings. We pause to admire the views, listen for birdsong, and appreciate the surrounding wildlife.
On every hike, we also take five minutes to stand or sit in silence, soaking in the natural world with all our senses.
Beyond that, I hope you find:
*A deeper sense of calm and clarity
*Relief from stress and mental clutter
*Meaningful conversations with like-hearted people
*A chance to reconnect with the present moment
*A growing appreciation for the rhythms of the natural world
Our hikes are not races — they’re journeys. I typically look at how long the AllTrails app says a hike will take at a moderate pace add a generous cushion so we can go slower if needed and/or take the time to pause, breathe, and appreciate the surroundings. Whether you're experienced or new to hiking, all are welcome. Come as you are, move at a reasonable pace, and leave feeling more grounded, open, and alive.
P.S. Since your organizer also loves being on the water, she might throw in some mindful kayaking or canoeing events.
