What we’re about
It can be easy to get stuck in the day-to-day grind and not stop to take a pause and notice what is going on in the present moment. Mindfulness is a scientifically backed method of promoting a sense of well-being. More traditional mindfulness practices don't always resonate for people, such as meditation. Even if these practices do resonate, maybe you are looking to expand your practice. In either case, this group will explore mindfulness in a fun and creative way using a camera lens. This group is for all levels of experiences with photography and mindfulness. The focus is not on technical photography skills, so all that is needed is a curious mind and a smart phone! We will use our camera lenses to look at ourselves, our surroundings, and our connections to the larger world from new perspectives.
This group will offer both virtual Zoom workshops and meetings, as well as in-person workshops whenever possible. Most events will have cost to attend. If there is a cost barrier for you to attend an event, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will make every attempt to make events as affordable and accessible as possible.
My focus in the beginning of this group is going to be starting with more 101 fundamental workshops, however from there I plan to continue to add new skills and activities, explore new themes, and hold workshops for specific populations. This will be an ever evolving group, and I'm excited for you to be a part of it!

See all- Pride and Joy: a Mindful Celebration of Summer (Virtual)Online Event, Online , NJ
Summer is almost upon us, and it is a time of change, celebration, and rejuvenation! Let's explore this changing of the seasons with curiosity and intention with our camera of choice (smartphones are perfectly fine and even encouraged!) and notice the changes happening all around us--and within us as well :)
If you have questions for me about the group, this event, or myself and my qualifications, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask!
A couple of notes because I still only have a free account:
- Attendees limit says 10, but I will actually limit it to 15.
- The cost for this 2 hour workshop will be $25, however the free account doesn't allow me to charge, so I will layout the steps to register next
To register:
- RSVP, even if it says attendance is full--I will still see you on the waitlist
- Register via this link on Eventbrite here. I've chosen to have people register this way to streamline the process and allow those outside of Meetup to more easily join, so feel free to share the registration link!
- Once you have purchased your ticket with Eventbrite, the Zoom link will appear on the confirmation page, in the confirmation email, and will be available on the attendee event page in Eventbrite (full disclosure, I'm new to using Eventbrite, so please let me know if there are any issues!)
- You may cancel up to 48 hours before the event to get a refund, and anyone who is on the waitlist will be notified there is an opening. Less than 48 hours and I will not be able to provide a refund. Please note that Eventbrite fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
If cost is a barrier, please let me know, and I will do what I can to help!
I hope to meet more of you and celebrate the new season together!
