ABOUT THE COURSE:
The body holds profound wisdom. It is intimately connected to our subconscious programming, which guides most of our actions, and also to our deepest intuitive guidance. The Buddha said that mindfulness immersed in the body has many benefits, including the overcoming of fear and pain, and the capacity to enter higher spiritual states. Through embodiment practices we are able to train ourselves to be kinder or more loving, more peaceful, more joyful, and/or emotionally stronger. Embodied practices also help us in self-inquiry, uncovering subconscious psychic knots and learning to untangle them to achieve greater freedom.

In this 8-week course students will explore a variety of meditative techniques designed to aid in learning to come more fully home into the body. Course topics include:

  • Grounding and Calming the Nervous System
  • Finding Emotions in the Body
  • Utilizing Body Awareness in Self-Inquiry
  • Working with Pain and Discomfort
  • Learning to Inhabit the Body
  • Cultivating Intuitive Guidance
  • Using the Felt Sense to Cultivate Desired Qualities of Being
  • Using Body Awareness to Foster Spiritual Growth

8-Week Course: Eight Thursdays, September 4 - October 23, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
