Embodied Mindfulness in Listening & Speaking

Details
This will be a casual, informal gathering in which we will explore together what it means to bring embodied mindfulness into speaking and listening -- into speech and listening to speech, into language as voice and language as listening to voice. There will be no script or agenda, but instead there will be a spontaneous and improvisational inquiry into this theme where we all cooperate and collaborate in learning together about our topic and practice together. James Martin and Kevin Williams will very lightly facilitate, within a very gentle and mostly very allowing space-holding capacity. All forms of domination will be respectfully yet firmly discouraged.
Our group this time will not exceed seven participants -- unless we decide to open that up to as many as possibly twelve in our discussion below. By keeping the group small, we will be able to enter our inquiry more gently and deeply, intimately.
We prefer that you attend for at least an hour of the scheduled time, but feel free to leave after an hour if one hour is enough for you.
There will be plenty of pauses and a deep commitment to respectful, kind, gentle, sincere, authentic speaking and listening as an embodied mindfulness practice.
We will probably mostly stay together as a whole group, but may explore a little dyad practice as well. You can choose your dyad partner if so. Or one can be assigned to you if you wish.
Some familiarity with embodied mindfulness will be helpful, but a very brief intro to this can be offered if such is necessary. Basically, embodied mindfulness is a practice which leans into being bodily present in our sensing, feeling, breathing... of focusing our awareness on the present moment experience within, around and between us.
Likely, if the weather is kind to us on this day, we will gather at a very nearby (Santa Fe) trail head (or park) and walk a short distance before sitting down for practice. If the weather is less kind to our purposes on this day, perhaps one of us will have an indoor space for us to explore in. We're happy to hear of such offers!
A location will be posted shortly, or well before the event.
There is no fee. All are welcome.
This event will repeat either weekly or twice a month for those who want to follow this process of learning and discovery over time. We will create our process together, or allow it to emerge, unfold and evolve naturally.
