Intro to MOSI -- a course
Details
This course is designed for beginners but will also be beneficial to experienced practitioners. All levels welcome.
MOSI (Mindfulness Oriented Somatic Inquiry), pronounced moh-zee, is a somatic contemplative practice which integrates and entangles some more "still" forms of mindfulness mediation with spontaneous and improvisational movement. There is no need for one's movements to be "lyrical" or graceful or "dancerly". If that happens, great. If it doesn't happen, great. It's not a performance; it's an inquiry and a contemplative exploration.
In this course we will explore the relationship of breathing, moving and sensing. This is the core MOSI practice. These apparently three things are gradually discovered to be one whole thing, as you shall see.
I've never taught MOSI as a course before. I always taught it in stand-alone classes--which I now understand was a bit of a mistake. So, this will be the first MOSI course. There will be four weekly classes in this course. It really takes some commitment of this kind to truly begin to enter the flow of MOSI.
I do not yet have a location for this course, but I have several options open to consider. The start date is not set in stone. It may change. I'm just "testing the waters" here to see if there would be interest in such a course. By signing up here, you're simply signaling an interest in the course, nothing more. If there is sufficient interest I will go ahead with it.
Those who signal interest will receive a message from me which invites you to register for the course.
If Saturdays are not a good day for you, and you prefer another day or time, just let me know. I'll set a day and time that works for the majority.
A sliding scale fee will be applied -- $15-$25. If this is not possible for you, we can work out a gift arrangement.
