Befriending our Minds: Shifting from Self-Torment to Self-Care
Details
This outing will blend reading and walking, reflection and talking as we together unpack key insights from evolutionary psychology to explore how mindfulness helps us cultivate a different relationship to consciousness itself. For anyone wondering why happiness seems so elusive, we'll delve into science that lights the way toward liberation.
Randolph Nesse, Chade-Meng Tan, and Robert Wright will be among those whose thoughts we engage. Expect a relaxed and friendly vibe, like a good meditation sitting. The starting location is the picnic table area just off the parking lot at Blue Bell Park. Feel free to arrive 15 minutes early if you want to hang out and chat a bit before we begin! Our stroll through the Wissahickon will be around 2 miles, at an uncommonly gentle pace.
