Join us for The Heart of Buddhism, a beacon of light illuminating the path of Buddhism as a pathway to transcending suffering through compassionate awakening. Clear and concise explanations on the heart of the Buddha’s teachings, meditations and philosophies will be offered as a blueprint to freedom from suffering to awakening to your enlightened nature. This retreat will be instructed by Michael Gregory, former Monk and Executive Director of Mindfulness Meditation Centers. The retreat will be held in a in beautiful setting in Marina Del Rey on October 27th from 12 - 5pm and offered by Donation - Generosity Only.
With impassioned clarity Michael will impart comforting wisdom about the nature of suffering and its role in creating compassion, love, and joy--all qualities of enlightenment.
In This Retreat You Will Discover:
Th Four Noble Truths: Why we suffer and how we can be completely free of all suffering which include anger, anxiety, guilt and depression through empowering our own mind by taking mindful responsibility for our emotions and projections and opening to the true and expansive nature of our mind.
The Noble Eightfold Path:
The path that leads to awakening, by which we can live and experience our path and purpose, our relationships and emotional life as a whole in accordance with our highest values of love, kindness, compassion and equanimity.
Three Doors of Liberation:
Living mindfully and with concentration, we see a deeper reality and are able to witness impermanence and are liberated from fear, anger, or despair.
Seven Factors of Awakening:
By bringing our inner ecology into balance with factors of enlightenment: mindfulness, investigation, effort, rapture, calmness, concentration and equanimity we enter the path of enlightenment and love and compassion naturally emerge in our lives.
What To Expect In Sessions:
Heart essence teachings, empowering practices, guided meditations and focused and illuminating questions and answer sessions will be interspersed throughout this transformational retreat.
Michael shares inspiring and empowering stories from his own life and the journey from being an investment banker to leaving it all behind at the height of his success and going to live in India and receive teachings from His Holiness The Dalai Lama and other great Buddhist Masters. To his life of teaching and sharing the principles of Buddhism in an approachable and modern way with thousands of students across America and the world.
This retreat is open to all and is appropriate for beginner and seasoned meditators and will offer an opportunity to begin to understand or deepen your understanding of these teachings and practices.

Join us in an open and expansive room with 18 FT high ceilings, custom lighting and beautiful surroundings to bring your heart and mind to a state serenity and joy.

All donations go to Mindfulness Meditation Centers, a non profit volunteer sourced organization that is devoted to compassionate awakening for all. Your generosity allows us to share these teachings with all, through classes, retreats and long term meditation programs in person and online. Your generosity makes these teachings of dharma accessible to everyone.
