The Embodied Mind: An Introduction to Meditation, Self-Healing and Energy Work
Details
Many people are drawn to meditation and spiritual practice — but find that traditional approaches don’t work for them. They struggle to relax, their mind won’t settle, or meditation feels frustrating, confusing, or emotionally overwhelming.
This small-group, live online series offers a different entry point.
Rather than asking you to “empty your mind” or bypass your psychology, this program begins with the body and nervous system, then gently builds toward emotional healing, insight, and personal growth.

• Nervous-system–informed practices for safety, relaxation, and presence
• Tools for emotional healing and self-regulation
• A grounded introduction to subtle energy and the chakra system

Complete Class-by-Class Outline
Class 1 — The Body as the Doorway
Nervous System Regulation, Safety & the Foundations of Meditation
We begin by addressing why meditation is often difficult.
Topics include:
- Vagus nerve activation & parasympathetic engagement
- Reducing muscle tone and cultivating bodily safety
- Why “trying harder” often makes meditation worse
- Learning to observe and accept, rather than react
- The realistic goals and challenges of meditation practice
- How to use self-hypnotic suggestion skillfully and effectively
Focus: Learning how to settle before attempting insight.
Class 2 — Five Ways of Meditating
Where Modern Psychology and Meditation Meet
In this class, meditation is demystified.
We explore the five core modes of meditation:
- Concentration
- Mindfulness
- Cultivation of Positive Feelings
- Healing and Releasing difficult thoughts and emotions
- Contemplation of Self and reality
You’ll learn:
- What each approach is for and how to weave them together
- Why most traditions emphasize only part of the picture
- A pragmatic Buddhist insight: how fear and desire motivate us
- Why we are, at our core, always trying to feel good and avoid pain
We also explore reparenting and attachment healing in meditation — learning to show up for ourselves in the ways we most needed others to show up for us.
Class 3 — Emotional Alchemy
Cultivating Positive Feelings Without Anxiety
This class reframes happiness and emotional wellbeing.
Topics include:
- Where feelings actually come from
- Why attachment to sources of happiness creates suffering
- How it’s not what we’re grateful for — but our gratitude itself — that heals
- Identifying unmet emotional needs in daily life
- How imagination and visualization can be used consciously to generate safety, joy, and connection
You’ll learn how to work with emotional needs in meditation in a way that improves relationships rather than compensating for them.
Class 4 — Energy Healing, Awareness & Discernment
Critical Thinking in Spiritual Practice
In the final teaching session, we widen the lens.
We explore:
- Critical thinking in spiritual reading and practice
- How to stay grounded, curious, and discerning
- An introduction to subtle energy, sensation, and awareness
- The chakra system as a map of experience, not a belief system
- How awareness of subtle sensation can release stored emotions and beliefs
You’ll be guided through sensing and gently moving energy within your own body.
Class 5 — Integration & Practice
Live Meditation, Questions & Shared Experience
This final session is open-ended and participant-led:
- Group discussion
- Shared experiences
- Clarifying questions
- Live guided practice based on what the group needs
The Four Guided Meditations
Participants receive four recorded meditations to practice between sessions:
- Mindfulness & Self-Hypnosis
Stimulating the Vagus Nerve and Becoming the Witness - Learning to Let Go: The Three-Level Release
Letting Go Through Body, Heart, and Mind — Anchored in Presence - Cultivating Positive Feeling States
Personal → Collective → Relational Expansion - Chakra-Based Emotional Cultivation
Working With Light and Sensation
Certification & Continuation
Participants who complete the series receive a Level 1 Certificate in Integrative Chakra Psychology™.
This Level 1 series is complete and rewarding in itself.
For those who feel called to continue, a Level 2 series exploring the chakra system in greater depth will be offered in the future.
Integrative Chakra Psychology™ is a psychospiritual approach to healing and personal growth that weaves energy work, somatic mindfulness, Buddhist psychology, and established psychological frameworks together. It supports emotional regulation, embodied insight, and the integration of psychological and spiritual experience through grounded awareness and direct experience.
About the Facilitator
I hold a Major in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, and have worked as a counsellor supporting people with emotional regulation, trauma, and personal growth. Alongside my formal training, I have maintained a lifelong meditation practice and have been exploring contemplative and energy-based approaches to healing since childhood.
Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of individuals in spiritual healing and meditative contexts, and have studied modalities such as Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. Through extensive personal practice, I have also developed a distinctive method of working with and reading the chakra system as a way of gaining insight into personal psychology, emotional patterns, and inner experience.
My work sits at the intersection of ancient contemplative traditions and modern counselling frameworks. I am particularly interested in how practices rooted in Buddhism and Tantra naturally align with approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, and Attachment Theory, and how these can be integrated into grounded, personalized healing practices.
I often describe my approach as combining the mind of a scientist with the heart of a Buddhist monk — curious, discerning, compassionate, and deeply practical. My aim is not to give people a single technique or belief system, but to help them cultivate a well-rounded, embodied set of tools they can adapt to their own lives and inner worlds.
*Participants who complete this series are welcome to book individual counselling sessions with me, if they wish. Because we will already share a common language, tools, and foundational practices, I offer a reduced rate of 15% off the first five individual sessions. This is entirely optional, and counselling is offered as a separate service with its own consent process and boundaries.
