Welcome to the first Mindfulness Support group for Survivors! I'm so glad that you are here. This is a gentle, peer-led mindfulness group for young femme and genderqueer survivors of sexual violence ages 18-30.
This first meeting will be a gentle introduction to the group.
We'll begin with simple introductions, followed by a grounding exercise I use often. We'll share our intentions for this space and go over some group agreements designed to keep everyone feeling safe and supported.
I'll lead a simple mindfulness practice that you can put in your tool box and take with you into your day to day life when you are needing some extra grounding and support. There will be a space for sharing and reflecting on the practice. We will close by offering ourselves care and setting gentle intentions for the week ahead.
This is a trauma-informed space and always there is no pressure to talk or participate in any specific way. You're welcome to simply listen and be present.
We are not here to discuss trauma. This is not a therapy group just a soft space to show up as you are, connect with others, and explore mindfulness tools for healing.
