Join us for an upcycling workshop where you can learn how to use scrap fabric and grains/tea/dried flowers to make your own naturally scented eye pillow for yoga and meditation! You’ll design, sew, and take home a one-of-a-kind creation—perfect for self-care or as a thoughtful gift.

Time: Sept 14th. There are two time slots at 1pm, 2:30pm. Each session lasts for an hour and 20 minutes.
What's included: clean, unused scrap fabric (sample, dead stock), filling materials (e.g. rice, tea, dried flower and herbs, you can make your own blend), access to necessary tools and equipment, guidance on basic sewing and invisible stitching.
Price: Donation based. Cash or digital donation accepted on site. Suggested amount based on your financial situation.

About the organizer: Dora Xu is the founder of SnailBlazer, a sustainability and cross-cultural education organization that reimagine consumerism, celebrate cultural diversity, and foster community connection. Akin to a trailblazer, SnailBlazer is about pioneering change at a mindful pace. We believe that by thinking globally and acting locally, small local initiatives can ripple outward to generate global waves. Dora is also the co-founder of Repair Café Oud-Noord Amsterdam, where she has been helping locals revive damaged textiles since 2022. With 8 years in sustainability consulting in the U.S. and the Netherlands, an MA in Environmental Management from Yale University, and training in fashion design, Dora brings system thinking and creativity to her work. She is a sought-after speaker and masterclass instructor on system thinking and circular material and service innovation. Through SnailBlazer, she hosts playful, hands-on upcycling workshops through sewing, embroidery, crochet, and macramé, or cultural workshops like making Chinese lanterns, mooncakes, or dumplings.
