Mindfulness is about observation without criticism;

being compassionate with yourself.

When unhappiness or stress hover overhead,

rather than taking it all personally,

you learn to treat them as if they were black clouds in the sky,

and to observe them with friendly curiosity as they drift past.

In essence, mindfulness allows you to catch negative thought patterns

before they tip you into a downward spiral.

It begins the process of putting you back in charge of your life.

Over time, mindfulness brings about long-term changes

in mood and levels of happiness and wellbeing.

Scientific studies have shown that mindfulness

not only prevents depression,

but that it also positively affects the brain patterns

underlying day-to-day anxiety, stress, depression and irritability

so that when they arise, they dissolve away again more easily.

Other studies have shown that regular meditators

see their doctors less often and spend fewer days in hospital.

Memory improves, creativity increases and reaction times become faster

and enables us to stay in the present moment, rather than reliving the past or pre-living the future.

The journey can be life changing in a positive way, if you are open all that it has to offer.

For decades now, scientific research has been showing how useful Mindfulness practices are

for reducing stress, anxiety and depression.

it is useful if we are feeling stressed or have a mental health problem,

it can complement our religious beliefs and practices

There is no need to be religious or spiritual, to learn to practise mindfulness

and reap the benefits, and it can also help all of us enjoy a more wakeful, healthier, happier life. ​

Studies have demonstrated that participating in a Mindfulness-based program

can help people manage a wide range of physical conditions,

improving general well-being and increase joy and is a skill that can be developed with practice.

Simple Steps for Meditation & Mindfulness Practice Monthly Meetings Both Meditation and Mindfulness means being consciously and calmly present to the moment, rather than having a mind full of stressful thoughts. they are skills that can be developed easily with practice and step by step instructions to practice in your everyday life Arrive: from 6.45pm we will start at 7pm Finish: by 8.30pm Contribution to costs: £10 Please wear: comfortable clothing and bring indoor footwear (no outdoor shoes worn indoors) and a bottle of water. Please Note: 6.45: Please allow enough time for delays on your travels and arrive by 6.45. 6.55: The side entry door will be locked and there will be no one available to let you in after that, since we will be in the pine cabin at the back of the garden. 7pm - Introduction and connecting 7.15pm - Mindfulness & Meditation 8.15pm - Circle share 8.30 - Close Mindfulness and Meditation has been around for thousands of years and is a natural ‘human state’. It can help us to see more clearly the patterns of the mind, connect with our body, enabling us to stay in the present moment, rather than reliving the past or pre-living the future. Come and learn ways to de-stress, relax and chill-out that overloaded mind! Everyone welcome, with no need to have any previous experience. Mindfulness and Meditation helps us to understand and deal with our emotions, helping us to alter our habitual responses in healthy ways, by taking a pause and choosing how we act. - We shall learn ways to gently slow down the mind and deal with life’s stresses - We shall practice easy skills to develop calmness and inner-peacefulness When we are mindful and present, we are more aware and available in our lives, we can feel more relaxed and confident in our day-to-day living and create our life from our healthy choices. Also, teaching, facilitating, training and coaching in personal empowerment and self-development, such as: Co-Counselling, EFT (emotional freedom technique), Reiki, Laughter Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation, Personal Empowerment and much more – always feeling moved to share the skills and benefits with others.
