NEW LOCATION: this event will be held at Eine Welt Haus at 7PM (room 111). A contribution of 2 Euros/person will be collected to cover for the cost of renting the room.

The Circle of Thought is a new event format where we dive deep into the expansiveness of an intellectual concept, while creating synergies by building up on each other’s ideas.

Let's explore the concept of Choice.

Here are a few questions we will consider during this evening:

  • When making decisions, how much do you think is based on logic and reason versus intuition and emotions?
  • What role does societal or peer pressure play in influencing our choices, and how can we resist it when necessary?
  • How do you balance the concept of destiny or fate with the idea that our choices shape our lives?
  • How can we become more mindful and deliberate in our decision-making processes to ensure better outcomes?
  • in a world with limitless choices, how can we avoid decision fatigue and make more effective, purpose-driven choices?

🌮 Food for thought

  • "Choice, not chance, determines human destiny." ― Aristotle
  • "Act only according to that maxim by which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law." ― Immanuel Kant
  • "Life is the sum of all your choices." - Albert Camus
  • "One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman." - Simone de Beauvoir

If you've never participated before, here's what to expect:

  • 2 hours of deep, interesting conversations in a respectful environment that will elevate your spirit and give you new ideas for life, work or relationships
  • a supportive group of people sharing their own unique experiences and viewpoints, and encouraging you to do the same
  • a rich mix of newcomers and regulars from different countries and cultures for a broad diversity of opinions and experiences

Please remember the existing rules of this group:

  • DO express your ideas clearly, calmly and concisely
  • DO listen actively
  • DO approach the conversation with an open mind and be willing to hear different perspectives
  • DON'T go too much into personal examples. While it's fine to illustrate one point with a personal story, this event focuses on having intellectual discussions
  • DO make yourself fully present. DON'T pull out your phone during the conversation

🚫 No-show policy
As the group size is small, no-shows have a strong negative impact on the group. As such, the policy is that as a general rule, no-shows and same-day cancellations will not be able to sign up for future events. To avoid this:

  • Only reserve a spot if you really intend to come.
  • If your plans have changed, cancel at least 24 hours before the event, to give people on the waiting list a chance to change their own plans and make it to the event.
  • If you have a real last-minute emergency and need to cancel in the last 24 hours, please contact me directly to avoid "no-show" status.
