Normality
Details
Let's explore the topic of Normality.
Here are a few prompts to get started with the conversation:
- What defines normal in society, and who gets to decide that?
- In which cases were you either in the norm or the odd one out? how was that?
- How can individuals navigate the challenges of being the odd one out? what are some strategies for coping with adversity from societal expectations?
- How do stereotypes and prejudices perpetuate norms of normalcy, and what are the consequences for individuals who fall outside these norms?
- Are there benefits to conformity and fitting in with societal norms, or does it stifle individuality and creativity?
- How can efforts to promote diversity and inclusion challenge traditional norms of normalcy?
🌮 More food for thought
- "The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well." - Alfred Adler
- "Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly." - Charles Addams

🚫 No-show policy
As the group size is small, no-shows have a strong negative impact on the group. As such, the policy is that as a general rule, no-shows and same-day cancellations will not be able to sign up for future events. To avoid this:
- Only reserve a spot if you really intend to come.
- If your plans have changed, cancel at least 24 hours before the event, to give people on the waiting list a chance to change their own plans and make it to the event.
- If you have a real last-minute emergency and need to cancel in the last 24 hours, please contact me directly to avoid "no-show" status.
