Societal Narratives

In the context of this discussion, we’ll refer to societal narratives as the collective stories that unavoidably shape our understanding of the world.

As they are passed on from generation to generation, societal narratives become more and more entangled with our values and deeply ingrained in our collective subconscious, transforming finally, into intrinsic parts of our cultures and (social) identities.

These societal narratives sometimes remain unquestioned, like some sort of general and immutable truth:
