The Speed of Life
Details
Is modern life moving too fast for us to truly experience it?
Work, technology, and social expectations demand that we move at an ever-accelerating pace. The German philosopher Hartmut Rosa argues that this speed doesn’t just shape our schedules - it reshapes our relationships, our sense of self, and even our ability to feel present. We’re constantly racing to keep up, yet many of us feel increasingly disconnected.
Join us for a thought-provoking small-group discussion where no philosophy background is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Together, we’ll examine the impact of acceleration on our well-being and ask: Can we slow down, or is speed an unavoidable part of modern life?
We’ll reflect on questions like:
- Do you feel like time is moving faster than before?
- Does technology save time or create more demands?
- Why do we often feel guilty when we’re not being “productive”?
- What does “slowing down” mean, and is it even possible?
Come share your thoughts, hear diverse perspectives, and engage in a meaningful conversation about what it means to truly live today.
A small voluntary donation is appreciated to help cover venue and meetup costs.
