Home
Details
In this meetup we will talk about home. The concept of home is familiar to all of us. Its exact meaning, however, can take very different forms. Some of us associate it with geographic places; others with people or feelings; others maybe with a mix of all them or with something else entirely.
Some of us might be reminiscing the home that they once left behind; others might be taking joy in the home that they have found or built for themselves. Some might be in the process of building themselves a home right now; some might be struggling to keep their homes; others might still be searching for their home. For others again, having or finding a home might not be that relevant in the present moment of their lives.
It doesn't matter where you stand with regard to this topic or how much knowledge or experience you have. Everyone is very welcome to join this event to explore this topic and to exchange perspectives with other people in a casual and relaxed setting.
There is no specific structure or agenda, we will see where the topic leads us. Points that could be adressed might include:
*Is it possible to entirely seperate the idea of home from geographic places?
- Can places feel like home although we have never lived in them? What about people that we meet for the first time?
*Is there a certain aspect that defines home for you and without which a "home" wouldn't be a home? - Is it possible to have more than one home at the same time?
*If you have conflicting feelings about your home, is it then still a home? At what point does home stop being your home? - Do we really need a home? Or is it just some kind of comfort zone that holds us back from connecting to the wider world around us?
If you've never participated before, here's what to expect:
*2 hours of deep, interesting conversations in a respectful environment that will elevate your spirit and give you new ideas for life, work or relationships.
- a supportive group of people sharing their own unique experiences and viewpoints, and encouraging you to do the same.
*a rich mix of newcomers and regulars from different countries and cultures for a broad diversity of opinions and experiences.
Please note that in order to support the room provider we will ask for some voluntary donations.
We may reorder the wait-list to try and balance regulars and new-comers.
