The Courage to be Disliked - Book Club, CBD

Details

Reading is an essential component of leadership development. For business leaders, the most impactful reading extends beyond explicitly "business" books to include histories, biographies, novels, and even poetry. The best lists of "must read" books by leaders in business are often incredibly diverse.

Minerva book club is initiated to convene friends, diversify my own reading habits, and make new connections. Minerva is so named because we read books in key disciplines in strategic warfare, commerce, wisdom, courage, inspiration, science, technology, strength, and the arts.

The book club meets every one to two months, members take turns to host and cook dinner, or meet at a restaurant and for two hours in a group of 6 - 8 people we discuss the book we’ve read.

This month’s book club (May 2022)
The Courage to be Disliked By Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga
Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 19th-century psychology alongside Freud and Jung, the authors explain how we are all free to determine our own future - free of the shackles of past experiences, doubts and the expectations of others.

This meetup will take place at SILY, a unique space in the CBD, one with a hidden heritage courtyard bar. Please RSVP if you wish to attend.
I look forward to meeting you all. 😊
