The Mines E&I Meetup is a forum where Mines alumni, friends, faculty, students, staff, engage entrepreneurs, mentors and angels in collaborative discussions around the latest research, go-to-market strategies and promising solutions to important problems. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5:00 pm at the Buffalo Rose. Hosted by the Mines Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, including the McNeil Center and Beck Venture Center.

    Beck Venture Center Startup Forum: A Conversation with Dan Caruso
    Join us for an exclusive conversation with Dan Caruso, founder of Caruso Ventures, a prominent investment firm focusing on quantum technology and space tech. A three-time “Decacorn” entrepreneur, his expertise is shared with aspiring innovators through numerous organizations, including Endeavor Global, Colorado Thrives, Elevate Quantum, and the University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. As founder and CEO of Zayo Group, Caruso led the company to an $14.3 billion exit, delivering exceptional returns for investors. His career highlights include co-founding executive roles at Level 3 Communications and leadership positions at Metropolitan Fiber Systems (MFS), both achieving multi-billion-dollar enterprise values. Caruso also spearheaded the 2004 take-private of ICG Communications, achieving a remarkable 25x return.

    The Beck Venture Center is thrilled to welcome Brad Feld to the Startup Forum stage! Brad is a partner and co-founder of Foundry, one of the largest networks of entrepreneurs and early-stage investors in the country. He has been an early-stage investor and entrepreneur for over 35 years, since founding his first company, Feld Technologies, in college. Brad is also a co-founder of Techstars and, with his wife Amy Batchelor, runs the Anchor Point Foundation. Brad has written several books on entrepreneurship and venture capital and started blogging in 2004 before VC Twitter existed.
