NEW JERSEY ULTIMATE SINGLES, MEETUP GROUP, WHERE THE FUN NEVER STOPS.

During the month of May, our Wednesday walks will move to one of North Jersey’s most beautiful parks, Ramapo Valley County Reservation in Mahwah.

Ramapo Reservation is a 4,000-acre county park bordering Ringwood State Park and Ramapo Mountain State Forest. The park offers scenic wooded trails, lakes, waterfalls, mountain views, and abundant wildlife. It’s the perfect place to enjoy nature, fresh air, and great conversation with friends.

Depending on the season, you may encounter wildlife such as white-tailed deer, fox, chipmunks, turtles, frogs, and many species of birds. Ramapo is also a popular destination for birdwatchers due to the ponds, Ramapo River, and dense woodlands that attract migratory birds.

### Our Hiking Route

We will enter the wooded trail on the right side of the lot and walk past the remains of an old historic brick house foundation before continuing deeper into the park.
At the beginning of the season we will start with easier walks and gradually build up to longer hikes as everyone gets back into hiking shape.

Our progression for the month will look something like this:

Week 1:
Two relaxing loops around the lower lake.

Week 2:
Lower lake loop, then down the hill across the meadow, across the brook and bridge, and up the stone staircase to the waterfall, where we will stop to rest, chat, take photos, and enjoy the scenery before heading back.

Week 3:
Same route to the waterfall, then continue up to the upper reservoir and Unemployment Rock, where we’ll stop, relax, enjoy the incredible views of the lake and mountains, snack, sip, and chat before heading back down.

Week 4:
Same route to Unemployment Rock, but instead of heading back down, we’ll continue around the upper lake loop before returning to the parking lot.

### Wildlife & Safety

Ramapo Reservation is home to a wide variety of wildlife. While sightings are usually peaceful and rare, visitors should be aware that black bears, rattlesnakes, copperheads, ticks, and unleashed dogs may occasionally be encountered in the park. Please stay aware of your surroundings and respect wildlife.

### Important Note

Some weeks our walking location may change for variety, so members should always check the Meetup event page for the most up-to-date details before heading out.

This is meant to be a relaxed, social walk or moderate hike, giving everyone a chance to enjoy nature, get some exercise, and spend time outdoors with friends.

DON’T BE SINGLE … COME OUT AND MINGLE.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME. 🌲🥾
