Along the way, you’ll delve into one of Boroughbridge’s most intriguing crimes: the 1813 assault on John Naylor during the Barnaby Fair. Was justice served, or is the truth still buried in the shadows? It’s up to you to solve the mystery and bring the story to light!

YOUR GUIDE: Join a small group and receive a self-guided map to lead you on this thrilling treasure trail. As you wander, you’ll solve riddles, uncover clues, and piece together the mystery of John Naylor’s attack. This interactive experience offers a unique way to explore history while playing detective. Whether you’re meeting new friends or sharing the adventure with old ones, this challenge is sure to leave you captivated!

MEET: 10:30 am – at Back Lane Car Park (look for your hosts—cheerful detectives armed with maps!).

END: Once you’ve cracked the mystery, why not relax and debrief with your group at one of Boroughbridge’s lovely coffee shops for a drink or spot of lunch?

As daring adults, let's embrace our adventurous spirits! Your safety and that of your fellow explorers are in your capable hands. So join the walk and prepare yourself because Boroughbridge is calling.
We believe in providing a more intimate and personalised experience, so we prefer to send groups off in smaller numbers so nobody (new or old members) feels left out. Alternatively, you can form your own group with your friends to embark on this thrilling journey together!

THE WALK: This walk is mostly on paved paths, although we do walk on the riverside at one point. This is an easy 3-mile walk which takes in Boroughbridge, and we will finish in Aldborough, where you can have a look inside the Aldborough Roman Museum.

This event is FREE. However, we will be collecting donations for MIND, the charity our Adventure Group supports.
