Miniature Painting Squad first meetup event - Banyo - North Brisbane
Details
This is the first Miniature Painting Squad event! Located in an air-conditioned, office chair seated art studio in Banyo's industrial area on specific morning weekend days.
This event takes the usual solitary task of painting miniatures and adds some social interaction with others interested in painting miniatures. Doesn't matter if your new or a very seasoned experienced painter all that matters is that you try to turn something grey into something that your happier to use, play and or display.
Their is no biases of what you paint miniature wise - it can be your latest D&D character, warhammer, hordes, kings of war, star wars legion or even some board game that came with plastic models like zombicide or heroquest. The point is were not playing them were purely just encouraging each other to make them more engaging to ourselves and/or audience.
I will be bringing a few spare brushes, jars to wash brushes and paints which will really help out if your new to miniature painting or just want to give it a go without going out and purchasing all the colours of the rainbow and its metallic counterpart (uncommonly known as industrial heavy metals rainbow). All you will need is:
- a miniature/s to paint that interests you
- A non-alcoholic drink as no one wants to be dehydrated (alcohol and hand to eye motor skills don't mix well - there is a kitchen to obtain water from and a fridge)
- some bravado to at least say 'hello' to the person sitting next to you
- some creativity.
If you have a collection of paints/brushes already please bring them along as I don't have 15 of each colour. By no means do I expect you to share it's more so to buffer the impact on mine.
For the initial first few meetups we'll avoid using airbrushes as compressors are loud for the most part. Feel free to airbrush your miniature before attending though.
Unfortunately this facility has a set of stairs and no lift as its part of an industrial complex so that needs to be factored in. As does not parking where there is a roller door to enable weekend deliveries to take place in the surrounding tenancies although there is plenty of parking on the street on weekends that this event is held.
There is no expectations of staying the whole time if you don't wish. On that note your sore neck and tired eyes will thank you after the 2 hour mark.
