Greetings once again from Ministry of Testing Bucks! This month Simon and Stu have lined up Louise Gibbs who will be giving a nautical talk on bugs, failure and risk.

As you are no doubt painfully aware we will need to modify the format so that our meetup can go ahead, given the current Coronavirus restrictions. As such, we've spoken to our colleagues at Ministry of Testing and arranged a Crowdcast (webinar) format for the talk instead.

On behalf of MoTBucks please stay safe, be kind to yourselves and others, and we'll look forward to seeing you online later this month!

Speaker: Louise Gibbs

Title: Let's Save The Titanic

Abstract:
The Titanic sank in 1912 killing over 1500 passengers and crew. This disaster was the result of a series of defects that existed in the ships design, procedures in place designed to protect the passengers and crew, and the environment that the ship existed in.

Let's imagine that we are a member of the ships crew. We have found some defects that we believe to be critical. What are we going to do about it?

In this talk, we are going to discuss what a bug is, and explore the idea that bugs do not cause failures, but they do increase the risk of failure.

Please register for the crowdcast before the event to avoid delays in logging in on the night.
