API Testing - Mark Winteringham

Are you looking to learn more about API testing, or perhaps would like to share your knowledge with others? For our next Meetup, we’re looking at all things API testing. Starting with a quick talk on how to do API testing, before getting stuck into some API testing challenges to flex those new (or old) API testing skills. This is going to be a fun-packed session with lots of hands-on testing, so be sure to join us.

API Testing crash course
Mark Winteringham, the author of Testing Web APIs, will be joining us for a crash course on how to do API testing. Mark will go through the fundamentals of building HTTP requests and testing HTTP responses. You’ll even have the opportunity to let loose on restful-booker to find bugs within the API.
Let’s take the TestBash API Challenge
With our talk complete, it’s time to get together and have a go at the Test.Bash(); API challenge. Ministry of Testing is offering an opportunity to show how you would complete the challenge with an API testing tool of your choice at their next online TestBash. So what better way to solve the challenge than as a group?
Throughout the session, we’ll work together to solve the challenge and put together the necessary code to demonstrate how it can be solved using different API Testing tools. As we progress you’ll have the support of Mark and the others at the meetup.
