[QUICK LUNCH TALK] Transitioning to Trade Me - Adam Howard

Transitioning to Trade Me

Change is opportunity: to learn new things, develop new skills, discover more about ourselves, or even just to validate the things we already know, do and believe. And yet sometimes it's easy to let those moments slip by, and not share the value that can be gained from recognising and exploring change.

In this talk, I'll try and share insights gained from a recent change I undertook when joining Trade Me as a Chapter Lead, as well as sharing ideas from other recent converts to the Trade Me test team. This will include the transition from context-imperial to context-inspired; a journey from coercion to coaching; and a contrast between management and leadership.

About Adam

Adam Howard is a Test Chapter Lead with Trade Me. A regular speaker at meet-ups and conferences in NZ and internationally, Adam also helps organise local WeTest Workshops (https://www.meetup.com/WeTest-Workshops/)and is chief design and layout editor for Testing Trapeze (http://www.testingtrapezemagazine.com/). He writes about testing on his blog (http://solavirtusinvicta.wordpress.com/), and occasionally manages to be concise enough to tweet as @adammhoward (https://twitter.com/adammhoward).

How will this session run?

This is a talk of approximately 30 minutes followed by Q&A. Please arrive at TradeMe at 12:00pm for a prompt start time of 12:10pm.

You're welcome to bring your lunch along and eat while you listen. There'll be an opportunity after the presentation to mingle and ask questions to the presenter, if you can extend your lunch break.
