AI Engineering Meetup: Agentic Coding, Pushed Further and Questioned
Details
Two talks this month, coming at agentic development from opposite ends. One is about pushing agentic coding as far as it'll go without the quality falling apart. The other asks whether the code was ever the point.
Ian Bicking: Agentic coding: pushing further, maintaining quality
Every time you solve one problem in agentic coding it's an opportunity to push it further... and bump into a new set of problems. I'll share some of the specific techniques I've used, ready for you to try: going deeper with linting and typing, documentation organization and prompt sourcing, integrating and refining skills, agent-run user stories, managing manual testing and review handoff, planning, and more tidbits for you to pull into your own projects.
Chaquon Cloud: Does coding have intrinsic value?
As an AI native engineer (programming for just 4 years), how do you reconcile agentic development? Is AI the replacement it was feared to be, or did it expose what was underneath all along? Let's explore the limits and benefits of AI from the perspective of someone who's never worked without it.
Come for two very different takes on what agents are doing to the craft, and stick around to argue about it with the room.
