One more samurai movie, this one from 1962. We're moving forward in time a little bit (I mean the year it was made. But also the time period of the movie. Seven Samurai was 1586, this movie takes place in the swinging 1630s!).

Seven Samurai is a romanticized cowboy-hero view of samurai. This movie, Harakiri, is considered the greatest ANTI-samurai movie ever made. Interesting.

And we're finally going to meet Tatsuya Nakadai, the third of the trio of great Japanese actors from the '50s/'60s.

Remember, watch the movie first, come ready to talk about it!

We will meet on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 8PM, at LEANING TOWER OF PIZZA at 24th Street and Lyndale, same as always. See you there!
