What we’re about
This is Black Creative Voices! I started this group last year, but was unable to get it off the ground. This time around I am DEVOTED to get things going. I consider myself a creative that loves all different art forms - visual and performing. I want this to be a group that focuses on and uplifts black creators and performers. A place where our work can be recognized and also admired! Thus, giving space for appreciation and collaboration. So many places and spaces are waiting for our art and content to be presented. We don’t always get the opportunities and the platforms to do that so, why not CREATE those platforms and opportunities for ourselves! I want to meet at least once a month to collaborate and talk about what we all have going on. Ultimately, from these meetings will come Open Mics, Poetry Slams, Art Exhibits and more. We will also spend time enjoying all the art the Minneapolis and other states/cities have to offer. If you love museums, art galleries, orchestra and live music - this group is for you ☺️ I want this group to be a catalyst to the unification of our people through art, let’s rise and start creating! [This is not a strictly BIPOC group - anyone is welcome to join. Just be mindful, open and respectful.]
