Supply Chain Management and Cybersecurity with Neo4j

Details
Graphs. Are. Everywhere.
Graphs are becoming mainstream: from real-time recommendations and fraud detection to master data applications (and everything in between), graphs power some of the most essential enterprise use cases for connected data. This meetup will present on an established and emerging graph use case: supply chain management and cybersecurity.
Supply Chain Management
Using graphs as basic representation of data for supply chain management purposes has several advantages: (i) the data is already modelled for further analysis, explicitly representing connections and relationships between things and concepts; (ii) graphs can easily combine multiple sources into a single graph representation, creating Knowledge Graphs; (iii) a lot of supply chain management algorithms exploit graphs for improving computation performances and results quality.
About the Speakers - Eric Wespi, Nathan Adams (Boston Scientific), Eric Spiegelberg (GraphAware)
Eric is a Process Development Engineer and Data Scientist at Boston Scientific, where he has worked since 2015. Prior to joining Boston Scientific Eric held several different engineering and data analysis roles at Intel Corp. for 10 years. He has a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Arizona State University. Outside of work Eric enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife and two kids.
Nate is a Process Engineer at Boston Scientific and is also a graduate student at the University of St. Thomas in the MS Data Science program. He currently holds a BA in Physics from Gustavus Adolphus College. Outside of work he enjoys golf, fishing/ice fishing, biking/hiking, and playing music.
Eric is a Senior Consultant at GraphAware. With over 16 years of experience with the Java platform, Eric holds a BS in Computer Science and a MS in Software Engineering, is an avid technologist, a published technical author, and life long learner. Outside of technology Eric is a high performance and instrument rated private pilot, has run the Paris Marathon in France, and enjoys time outside and on the water with family and friends.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity has become a big data problem, requiring advanced data solutions. Graph databases are an excellent match for this data and are a key technology enabler for the needed collection, analysis and research, significantly boosting the capabilities that moves us closer to the goal of providing maximum security of our data, devices, and systems.
