Fort Snelling Hike - Pike Island Loop

Join our Outdoor Queers walking & hiking Meetup Group for a 3.9 mile hike around Pike Island at Fort Snelling! All Trails lists it as an easy hike with a duration of 71 minutes. Bonus that this is a Minnesota Hiking Club route! (https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/clubs/hiking.html) Please message in the event chat if you are running late. We will keep a pace that works for all hikers. We can also grab lunch after if people are interested!

Parking passes: A state park sticker or daily pass is required for all vehicles. Passes are available online or at the park office. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/permit.html

Where to meet: From highway 5, take the Post Road exit and follow signs for Fort Snelling State Park. Follow Snelling Lake Road past the Park Office (Stop here for a State Park Parking Pass if you don't already have one). Continue following Snelling lake Road. You will pass the swimming beach, picnic island, fishing pier, and then drive under a big bridge (Highway 62, Mendota Bridge). We will meet in the last parking lot at the end of the road.
