Kaisa Taipale (CH Robinson)
Kaisa grew up in Minnesota liking math and poetry, and ended up doing math through college and graduate school. She always liked relating math to the real world, but did not see a non-academic future in math until data science was born. After five years at the University of Minnesota teaching and doing research with the Center for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics in the School of Mathematics, she joined C.H. Robinson last September to work on contractual pricing using data science. -
Heather Lendway (3M)
Heather is a Data Scientist at 3M working in the Commercial Solutions Division. Her focus is developing Shiny applications that enable end users to easily access and visualize data combined from disparate sources, enabling efficient data driven decision making. Prior to her role at 3M, Heather spent ten years as an application developer doing end to end development utilizing java, javascript, html, css, SQL and more. Heather studied Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics at Macalester College in St. Paul. -
Joan Hinrichs (Optum)
Joan is an Analytics Consultant at Optum Health supporting Healthcare Economics. Her focus is predictive modeling, risk stratification and identification of wasteful/avoidable care. Prior to her role with Healthcare Economics, Joan spent over ten years supporting clinical research and acting as a linchpin for enterprise data management and business partners. Helping transform data into insight and foresight to help organization anticipate the needs of their clients. Joan studied Biomedical Sciences at University of Wisconsin, Executive Public Health Administration and Policy at the University of Minnesota and is currently finishing up her Data Science graduate certificate at Harvard University.
